Loan Periods & Fines

General loans, inlcuding most books, books-on-cd, and magazines are 21 days, and may be renewed up to 5 times except when another patron has requested the item.

DVD/Blu-Ray loans are 7 days, and may be renewed up to 2 times except when another patron has requested the item. Some DVD/Blu-Ray sets, including TV show seasons and certain collections have an extended loan period up to 21 days. DVD's and Blu-Rays may only be checked out by adult (18+) patrons.

New and popular titles may have shorter loan periods to ensure other patrons have timely access to them. These items may be unable to be renewed.

Items loaned from other libraries through the CLEVNET system may have different loan periods and limits, as set by the owning library's policies.

Items which have been marked as OVERDUE for an extended time may be flagged as ASSUMED LOST and the cost of the item will be billed to the patrons account, and their checkout privileges temporarily restricted. Conneaut Public Library items which are ASSUMED LOST may be replaced with an identical copy if a patron does not wish to pay the full cost and can find the item cheaper elsewhere. Other libraries' policies may differ and patrons may not be able to replace items loaned from other libraries in this way.

The Conneaut Public Library is commited to patrons' access to materials, and reserves the right to make exceptions to these rules on a case-by-case basis to ensure both the return of materials and patrons' continued access to library services.
