Scarecited on the First Day of School by Alliah L. Agostini It’s the first day of school for Afua! There’s no one word to name her feelings. Is she scared? Excited? Oh wait, she’s scarecited! Her own combination of both. Why should she have to choose? Scarecited on the First Day of School is a charming picture book that reminds us all that having the courage to be our authentic self is always just enough, and you can feel more than one big emotion at the same time. But if there isn’t one word to describe those feelings . . . there’s beauty in making it yourself. Narwhal vs. Kindergarten by Vanessa Roeder Hugo has a problem. A big, tall problem. One that refuses to go away, no matter how many hats (or donuts) he puts on his head to try and hide it. His horn is a barrier to the bus and a calamity in the classroom, and nothing Hugo tries seems make it better. But with the help of his friends and a rousing, inclusive baseball game, Hugo learns that everyone needs something a little different to succeed and that working together is no trouble at all. D-Day 2025

D-Day Reading The Guns at Last Light D-Day: The Battle for

(2013) Rick Atkinson This is the last book in Atkinson’s masterful Liberation trilogy. His account of D Day is beautifully crafted but what makes this a must read is the ensuing narrative – the best single-volume telling of the ensuing defeat of Nazi Germany on the Western Front. Normandy (2010) Antony Beevor This is the first book to describe not only the experiences of the American, British, Canadian, and German soldiers, but also the terrible suffering of the French caught up in the fighting. Beevor draws upon his research in more than thirty archives in six countries, going back to original accounts and interviews conducted by combat historians just after the action. D-Day is the consummate account of the invasion and the ferocious offensive that led to Paris's liberation. September Book Releases Place Hold Closed
